After leaving the Ushinawa Isles, we made for Port Peril for to meet with the Pirate King and gain out status as Free Captains. Once we had arrived, we sent Conchobar off with our request to meet the King and he gave us the positive response over a drink in the Riptide Alehouse. There we also met Captain Pierce Jerrell of the Salty Flagon, and had some converse with him, with Chopper seemingly making friends of his fellow Captain.

A brief run in with Caulky Taroon, who was there on behalf of the Wormwood and Harrigan to claim pressed crewmembers, led to a barroom brawl of sizable proportions. We did restrain her and take her way from the alehouse whereupon she claimed no love for Harrigan or his ship. Captain Chopper offered her a place, if she would take it, on the Crisis, and she did accept it.

The next day, we were hailed by one Tsadok Goldtooth, member of the Pirate King’s crew, who did come to us to ascertain our acceptability to become Free Captains in three trials.

The first trial was to climb the rigging of a ship and untie the sail in a contenst of speed against one of Tsadok Goldtooth’s own crewmen. Chopper volunteered for this task and made hiis way up the rigging. He mananged to get almost all the ties loose, before another of Goldtooth’s crew accidentally on purpose let loose a boom to shake the mast that Chopper was working upon. Proving himself a true sailor and master of rigging, Chopper did not fall and let his own sail open earlier than the other man.

The next test was to be cards and drinking: Bastard’s Fool and a ration of Gutbuster Rum to the winner of the hand. This was to take place in the afternoon of this same day.
