Skull and Shackles
The Journal of Ezikial Hands, Journeyman Gunner Part Twenty-Five
The day after or recognition, we received a letter from Tessa Fairwind, requesting that we join her for dinner.
At this time, Tessa Fairwind was the next obvious Pirate King should Bonefist fail and a great captain with a fleet of her own. She brought us to her town home to welcome us as Free Captains and to discuss the possibilities of her following Bonefist as the next Pirate King. Her main concern was to draw our attention to and to ask for our aid in a worrisome matter of a Chelish spy in the Shackles.
She wanted to recruit us to find this spy and report to her on the issue. While I had some serious doubts as to joining her, I had little in the way of concerns about allying with her. Unfortunately my concerns were dismissed or overlooked and I was overruled and we signed on. Hopefully that will not come back to haunt us.
Having made our choice, then, we sailed for Quent to begin investigating at the House of Stolen Kisses and to meet with Dindream. As all well know, nothing is ever free and Dindream was willing only to grant information she possessed for a price. The cost of the information Dindream possessed was the recovery of a relic, the Golden Vespal, a wasp-figurine, from the hands of a group of Wreckers, and vengeance upon them if we could dispense it.
Therefore we sailed to Beachcomber. There we did consult with the Temple of the Hidden Name, another information broker, for information on the Wreckers and the Chelish spies as well. Their price for information on the spy was knowledge of the Brine Banshee, the way of her handling and speed.
As for the Wreckers, their location and commander’s name was bought with the information of Soshimira, paid for by Reiko with the names and occupation of his children and the fact of his death.
