Skull and Shackles
The Journal of Ezikial Hands, Journeyman Gunner Part Sixteen
We did arrive in Senghor, a smallish, but well fortified city, known for its dislike of slavers a few days of sailing later. We arranged or docking fees and ship’s watches and shore leave and set off into the city to see what we may find.
Captain Chopper, myself and Feruzi went to find a tavern and Reiko went off by herself as was her custom ashore. In a tavern named the Sea Witch we made the most startling but welcome discover of some of our old crewmates from the Wormwood.
Crimson Cogward, Jack Scrimshaw, Barefoot Samms Toppin, and Cut-Throat Grok had all chosen to escape the Wormwood when they had heard of our mutiny and although they had brought them, Shivikah and Giffer Tibbs did not survive the escape and journey.
They did tell us that Harrigan was much wroth with Plugg for allowing us to mutiny and take the ship and less so at us for taking it and killing Plugg.
Chopper did invite them to join our crew, much to my pleasure, for I ahd strongly desire to see Grok again.
She did tell me that she had heard of another gunslinger that had a pistol with multiple barrels and that he had gone to hunt a creature whose blood was said to add potency to gunpowder. Having decided that such a hunt was to his liking, the captain did choose to sail to the beast’s location that we may ascertain the truth of such stories for ourselves.
Sadly, a storm off the Eye kept us in harbor for a time, but we made ready to sail as much as we were able.
Grok, having been appointed Quartermaster, took up residence in the secure cargo hold and we were able to improve upon out relationship in a manner satisfactory to us both.
The beast we set out to observe was to be found in some Mbaiki ruins, and being a font of such knowledge, Mr.Kroop let us know that the tribe were some sort of animal spirit worshipers but had fallen afoul of their own magic, which in turn spawned the Koro-Koro beast that we sought.
